About us
En väg in (EVI) is a regional contact center for children and young people with mental health issues in Västra Götaland.
At EVI, we also handle referrals to all of the region's child and adolescent psychiatric clinics (BUP) as well as advisory calls from youth, guardians, and healthcare partners. Organizationally, EVI belongs to the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) at Sahlgrenska University Hospital.
En väg in is located in central premises in Gothenburg, where a team of approximately 20 people works to provide the region's children and young people with the right psychiatric care at the right time and at the right instance. Our team consists of nurses, psychologists, doctors, and administrative secretaries, and we are now looking for a licensed nurse to join us.
At EVI, we work interdisciplinary and benefit from each other's experiences and competencies. We also continuously provide training for our staff in areas relevant to our operations and collaborate with BUP’s outpatient clinics in the region, as well as healthcare partners such as primary care, social services, and school health services.
Job Responsibilities
Your workday at En väg in mainly consists of two parts - assessing incoming referrals and staffing our advisory phone line.
Guardians and, to some extent, young people call our advisory phone line with questions about mental health, and your task is to triage them to the appropriate level of care (BUP or primary care) using established triage documents and current regional medical guidelines (RMR), or to provide self-care advice. Healthcare partners also call the advisory phone line.
In the referral assessment, all of the region's referrals to BUP, including self-referrals, are handled. These are assessed in teams of at least two employees, and again, the main task is to triage to the appropriate level of care.
As an employee at En väg in, you also have the opportunity to be part of the further development of the operation, as we are a relatively newly established unit that opened in 2022, and to participate in various working groups regarding training and internal planning.
Additionally, there is an opportunity for remote work a couple of days a week.
About you
We are looking for a licensed nurse. You have excellent knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing and good knowledge of English. You have good IT skills. Previous experience working with children and young people with mental health issues and/or experience in referral assessment is considered an asset.
Great emphasis is placed on your personal qualities, where a good attitude is central in telephone contact with children/young people and their parents. Since you work in a team with referral assessments and have contacts with various partners, you also need to have excellent collaboration skills.
To thrive in this role, you need to be able to maintain quality and pace in methodical and recurring tasks. At the same time, you need to be flexible and able to shift focus when priorities change.

In the event of recruitment of nurses/doctors with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish licenses/specialist certificates.
If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introductory program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment. It includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulator Center. Additionally, there is a placement in another department to broaden your competence.
